Happy Holidays and All the Best in 2015

We wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday and the best of health, wealth and happiness in 2015!
Holidays are a great time to relax and watch movies together.  Here are some great movies that released recently.
The team of people who saved Winter's life reassemble in the wake of her surrogate mother's passing in order to find her a companion so she can remain at the Clearwater Marine Hospital.  A great family movie starring Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd and Nathan Gamble.

The Kadam family leaves India for France where they open a restaurant directly across the road from Madame Mallory's Michelin-starred eatery. Great acting, nice story and some great food cooked up.

Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they're all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow "runners" for a shot at escape.  Based on the first book of a trilogy.  Another epic movie that is the calibre of Hunger Games and Hobbit.
Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil and her cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.  Great action fun for the whole family.

A man believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and has dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. But when he meets a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can't stand idly by - he has to help her. Great action.  Another winner for Denzel.

TAKE SOME TIME TO RELAX DURING YOUR VACATION!

Whether you live in the area or are vacationing here--vacation time can be exhausting--trying to fit too many activities in. Sometimes it's nice to just sit back with a cold beverage and enjoy a great movie. Renting a movie can be a saving grace on rainy days with a house or cottage full of kids.

Here are some recent releases for kids and some for adults, too.

THE LEGO MOVIE: This movie, featuring a world of Lego and its' characters is a pleasant surprise for the whole family--YES--parents, too. The story is packed with humour that is not just targeted at kids but adults as well. The jokes and action are fast paced--you'll struggle to keep up with the steady stream. The story is fun and lending a hand is a host of Star voices including, Will Farrell, Liam Neeson, Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman. A great family rental.

RIO 2: This sequel to the kid-favourite Rio has been met with great anticipation from the junior crowd (and more than a few parents). Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway return in their roles as Blu and Jewel and are joined by newcomers such as Bruno Mars. A laughter and musical family trip for the clan through the Amazon turns more serious as Blu meets his father-in-law. Fun for everyone.

HEAVEN IS FOR REAL:This film is based on a #1 bestselling book that portrays the true story of a small town father who must find the strength to believe his son's life changing experience of claiming to have visited heaven during a near death experience. After the episode, the child seems to know things he couldn't possibly know. This is a touching, life affirming story that provokes a great deal of thought.

ROAD TO PALOMA: The story of a Native American biker on the run after avenging his mother's murder. Lots of twists and turns in this powerful tale of family, strangers pride and penance.

THE FACE OF LOVE: A touching tale about a widow who meets her late husband's doppelganger who evokes a flood of old emotions as she begins to fall in love again. A veteran cast featuring Annette Bening, Ed Harris and Robin Williams offer convincing performances.

SABOTAGE: He's back. Arnold Schwarzenegger teams up with Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard and Joe Manganello to head up this thrilling action movie. An elite DEA task force storms a heavily armed cartel safe house but covertly robs the Mexican drug lord. The money goes missing and a cat and mouse game of mistrust begins.

A NIGHT IN OLD MEXICO:  Showcasing Academy Award Winner Robert Duvall, a rancher who loses his land and home hits the road with his estranged grandson for one last wild adventure of booze women and guns. A powerful performance.

TRANSCENDENCE: A sci-fi tinged thriller starring Johnny Depp as a leader in the field of artificial intelligence attempting to pair humankind's collective intelligence with its' full range of emotion within a machine. When anti-technology extremists threaten to destroy his life's work, he uploads his own mind into a super computer. The result is ever evolving knowledge--but will absolute power corrupt?
