Check Out My New Neighbors..At Gone Hollywood Video!!

Young new parents Kelly(Rose Byrne) and Mac(Seth Rogen) are in for a surprise when they discover that their new neighbors are anything but the perfect candidates as Teddy Sanders (Zac Efron) tests their patience. They try to play it cool as the parties reach epic proportions but it finally comes to a head where both sides are forced to fend for their turf. Each sides relentless sabotage make for gut busting laughs and soda out the nose fun. A great comedy for the prankster in all of us. This film had me laughing from start to finish and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good laugh.

TAKE SOME TIME TO RELAX DURING YOUR VACATION!

Whether you live in the area or are vacationing here--vacation time can be exhausting--trying to fit too many activities in. Sometimes it's nice to just sit back with a cold beverage and enjoy a great movie. Renting a movie can be a saving grace on rainy days with a house or cottage full of kids.

Here are some recent releases for kids and some for adults, too.

THE LEGO MOVIE: This movie, featuring a world of Lego and its' characters is a pleasant surprise for the whole family--YES--parents, too. The story is packed with humour that is not just targeted at kids but adults as well. The jokes and action are fast paced--you'll struggle to keep up with the steady stream. The story is fun and lending a hand is a host of Star voices including, Will Farrell, Liam Neeson, Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman. A great family rental.

RIO 2: This sequel to the kid-favourite Rio has been met with great anticipation from the junior crowd (and more than a few parents). Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway return in their roles as Blu and Jewel and are joined by newcomers such as Bruno Mars. A laughter and musical family trip for the clan through the Amazon turns more serious as Blu meets his father-in-law. Fun for everyone.

HEAVEN IS FOR REAL:This film is based on a #1 bestselling book that portrays the true story of a small town father who must find the strength to believe his son's life changing experience of claiming to have visited heaven during a near death experience. After the episode, the child seems to know things he couldn't possibly know. This is a touching, life affirming story that provokes a great deal of thought.

ROAD TO PALOMA: The story of a Native American biker on the run after avenging his mother's murder. Lots of twists and turns in this powerful tale of family, strangers pride and penance.

THE FACE OF LOVE: A touching tale about a widow who meets her late husband's doppelganger who evokes a flood of old emotions as she begins to fall in love again. A veteran cast featuring Annette Bening, Ed Harris and Robin Williams offer convincing performances.

SABOTAGE: He's back. Arnold Schwarzenegger teams up with Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard and Joe Manganello to head up this thrilling action movie. An elite DEA task force storms a heavily armed cartel safe house but covertly robs the Mexican drug lord. The money goes missing and a cat and mouse game of mistrust begins.

A NIGHT IN OLD MEXICO:  Showcasing Academy Award Winner Robert Duvall, a rancher who loses his land and home hits the road with his estranged grandson for one last wild adventure of booze women and guns. A powerful performance.

TRANSCENDENCE: A sci-fi tinged thriller starring Johnny Depp as a leader in the field of artificial intelligence attempting to pair humankind's collective intelligence with its' full range of emotion within a machine. When anti-technology extremists threaten to destroy his life's work, he uploads his own mind into a super computer. The result is ever evolving knowledge--but will absolute power corrupt?

Summer Movies--not just for rainy days!

It's summer and time to enjoy the outdoors. Nothing is better after a day of activity in the sun than gathering the family together to share the laughs, action or frights a great movie can offer!

Recent Releases

300:Rise of an Empire : If you enjoyed the first 300 movie, you will enjoy this sequel. The battlefield in this offering is the sea and features epic at sea battles between the Persians and Greeks seeped in the mythology and special effects that make the franchise unique.

The Grand Budapest Hotel: A forerunner for a Best Picture nomination in 2015, this highly original and quirky tale follows the adventures of a legendary concierge at a luxury European hotel. He and his trusted friend and employee, Zero Mustafa, engage in capers worthy of a Pink Panther film. Witty, unique and visually appealing, you'll like it and may not even know why.

Stage Fright: Do you like scary? Campy? This slasher musical is sure to please. The daughter of a Broadway Diva is working the summer at a performing arts camp and lands the lead role in the summer showcase play. Before the curtain rises the bodies start dropping. Musical veterans Meatloaf and Minnie Driver add their star appeal. Scream meets Glee.

Enemy: Jake Gyllenhaal stars in this Canadian production about a bored history professor who spots his doppelganger in a video and decides to track him down. This leads to a meeting that develops into much more than either man bargains for. A haunting suspenseful film.

Winter's Tale: A fable-like love story set in New York City at the turn of the Century. A burglar meets a dying woman and falls madly in love with her. His only chance to be with her is to conquer evil, stop time  and bring her back to death. Surprisingly enjoyable.

Walk of Shame: This comedy stars Elizabeth Banks as a TV news anchor who loses the audition for her dream job. After an uncharacteristic night of partying, she awakes in a stranger's bed. She has a message waiting from her agent saying the job is hers if she can get across town by 5pm. The following series of misadventures is hilarious.

Bad Words: This laugh out loud comedy stars Jason Bateman in his directorial debut. He stars as a 40 year old who discovers a loophole in the Golden Quill national spelling bee and decides to hijack the competition and crush the dreams of a score of hard working 10 year olds.

Kid Cannibis: The true story of an Idaho teen dropout who builds a multimillion dollar marijuana ring with his friends smuggling drugs across the Canadian Border.
