sharecroppers to a 34 year tenure as a White House Butler, where he

SPRING SMORGASBORD OF SUPER RELEASES!
Spring has sprung. It's been a long winter for all of us. I know you are itching to get outside, do some gardening and enjoy some fresh air. After a long day for raking and planting, enjoy an evening relaxing with a refreshing beverage and great movie. Here are some of the highlights for the last couple of weeks:
New chapters of a couple of great fantasy franchises--The Hobbit and The Hunger games are available.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the second installment based on the Hunger Games Trilogy, follows Katniss Everdeen, heroine of the Hunger Games tournament in what is billed as a victory tour. Her presence stirs the fires of rebellion, forcing President Snow to take drastic measures. Great action and suspense. Hardcore and casual fans alike will be pleased.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit saga. This absolutely epic production features Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf and the 13 dwarfs continuing to reclaim Erebor. They face their greatest obstacle--the Dragon, Smaug.
Mandela: The Long Walk to Freedom: An emotional and stirring portrayal of the crusader who single-handedly took on Apartheid in South Africa and became the country's first Democratically elected president.

The Book Thief is an extremely moving story of a girl who transforms the lives of the people around her within the backdrop of Nazi Germany. Based on the best-selling book.
Blockbusters:
The Wolf of Wall Street: Based on a true story of an overambitious stock broker--Martin Scorsese directs an animated Leonardo DiCaprio in this story of sex, power, money and greed. Not for the feint of heart but a must see for cinephiles.
Inside Llewyn Davis: Snubbed by not being nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, this latest offering--written and directed by the Coen brothers--is a masterpiece of writing and filmmaking. It focuses on a fictional folk singer in Greenwich Village in the 1960's. Great original music and a Dylanesque vibe.
August: Osage County: A heavyweight cast led by Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ewan McGregor, Chris Cooper, Abigail Breslin and Benedict Cumberpatch, drive this story of a family led by a dysfunctional matriarch.
Comedies:
Delivery Man: Vince Vaughn is an underachiever who learns his donations to a sperm bank 20 years earlier has resulted in 533 children. This feel-good movie follows his transformation.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: The cult hero Ron Burgundy is back--along with his posse, featuring Steve Carrell. Ron faces off against a new rival to his title of World's Greatest Anchorman.
Grudge Match: Rocky Balboa VS Rocky Marciano? This comedy pits two old boxing rivals, played by Sylvester Stallone and Robert DeNiro, who come out of retirement to settle the score once and for all and decide who is the greatest. A solid supporting cast including Kevin Hart, Alan Arkin and Kim Basinger make this a fun romp worth seeing.
Horror:
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones: Critics are calling this the best and scariest of the franchise. It involves a new victim for the ancient evil.
Kids and Family:

Frozen: Destined to go down in the annuls as a true Disney classic, Frozen culls all the best elements of great Disney movies: A great soundtrack, a troubled Princess, drama and a hilarious sidekick. This is one both parents and kids will enjoy.
Alpha and Omega 3: The Great Wolf Games: The third full length A and O feature means they're doing something right. This movie features the "Great Wolf Games" where alphas put aside their differences for some friendly competition.
Walking With Dinosaurs: Technology and CGI have reached the point where watching a movie focused on dinosaurs is very enjoyable. a good movie for the whole family.

Above and beyond the Academy Awards, there are a lot of great new titles to choose from.
ESCAPE PLAN: Starring the dynamic duo of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, this is a great prison break movie. The two plot to escape the most secure, state of the art prison ever built. Full of action and plot twists and turns, the pair play well off each other to drive the story.
THE COUNSELOR: Ridley Scott directs an A list cast including Michael Fassbender, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem and Brad Pitt in this action-packed thriller. A lawyer who represents the criminal element uses his connections to try and make some quick cash in a drug deal only to find he is in over his head.
ENDER'S GAME: This engaging sci-fi, based on the best-selling novel, revolves around a young and brilliant boy who represents the Earth's last hope against a hostile Alien invasion. Harrison Ford and Sir Ben Kingsley lend their star power to this visually fabulous adventure.
THOR: THE DARK WORLD: Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the Norse God of Thunder. Supported by Anthony Hopkins, as Odin, and Natalie Portman, this sequel surpasses the first one in every respect. Action and stunning visual effects make this highly entertaining viewing.
OLD BOY: Spike Lee directs this psychological thriller about a man, played by Josh Brolin, who is kidnapped and held in solitary confinement for 20 years. He is suddenly released without explanation and is obsessed with seeking vengeance. Brolin is fabulous in the starring role. This movie is a remake of the 2004 Cannes Grand Jury prize-winning Korean film of the same name.
Two very different biopics of fame and fortune: DIANA, based on the fairytale princess, focuses on her torrid affair with a doctor, long before Dodi Fayed entered her life. Naomi Watts meets the difficult role head on--giving a genuine and believable portrayal. ANNA NICOLE documents Anna Nicole Smith's controversial and tragic life. It portrays her obsession with becoming famous and follows her tragic descent from achieving that goal.
